Course aims

To provide delegates with information and skills to conduct effective display screen equipment assessments, conforming to the requirements of the Health and Safety Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Regulations.

Course objectives

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

Carry out practical workstation and display screen equipment assessments.

Understand the requirements of the Health and Safety Display Screen Equipment Regulations.

Use a checklist for carrying out and recording DSE Assessments.

Course content

An overview of the legal requirements for Risk Assessment.
Health risks associated with visual display units (VDUs) including
musculoskeletal, eyes, stress
British Standards for VDUs and Environment.
The assessment checklist of essential items for carrying out and recording DSE assessments.
Practical workplace and DSE assessments.
Use of in-house or alternative generic DSE assessment forms
